Smaklig is an AI-driven meal planning service for the Swedish market. We automatically create weekly menus based on your goals, allergies, dietary preferences, and current campaigns at your store (seven chains supported: ICA, Coop, Hemköp, City Gross, Lidl, Willys, Costco). You get both the recipes and a sorted shopping list directly.

Smaklig is developed by Alexander Eriksson in Sweden. The service is self-funded and independent — we take no commissions from ICA, food manufacturers, or sponsors.

Smaklig supports 2,725 stores across seven Swedish chains: ICA (1,285 stores), Coop (726), Willys (254), Lidl (212), Hemköp (205), City Gross (41) and Costco (2 — Arninge and Burlöv). All seven chains are live with full campaign integration. Campaigns update per chain's reset day: ICA/Willys/Hemköp/City Gross/Lidl Monday 00:00, Coop Tuesday 00:00.

Yes, but you won't get campaign-optimized recipes. We recommend choosing your nearest store (ICA, Coop, Hemköp, City Gross, Lidl, Willys or Costco) to get maximum value from the service.

Your shopping list works completely offline — it syncs automatically when you're back online. Recipe generation and campaigns require internet.

At registration you set a goal (weight loss, maintenance, muscle gain), current weight, height, and activity level. Smaklig calculates your TDEE using Mifflin-St Jeor and creates weekly menus matching your calorie and protein profile. Weight loss happens through caloric deficit — not magic ingredients.

Yes. We support gluten, lactose, nuts, shellfish, eggs, soy, fish, sesame, and more. All AI-generated recipes are automatically validated against your allergies on the server — if a recipe contains an allergen, it is BLOCKED, not just warned. This is safety-critical for us.

Yes. You can select vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, LCHF, keto, GI, Mediterranean, and several other diet types during onboarding. Smaklig adapts both recipes and campaign suggestions to your choice.

No. Smaklig is a planning tool, not medical advice. If you have diabetes, kidney disease, pregnancy, or other conditions requiring special diets — always consult a licensed healthcare professional before following a Smaklig menu.

Each recipe shows exact kcal, protein, carbs, and fat per portion — always with tabular-nums for clear reading. Values are calculated from a Swedish food database linked to the ingredients.

The range of SEK 150–250 per week describes a possible savings mechanism, not a guarantee. The mechanism is planning around weekly offers, reusing ingredients to reduce food waste, and avoiding impulse purchases. How much lower the grocery bill becomes depends on the store, the week's offers, household size, and the items you actually buy.

Smaklig is free during beta. The free version includes 3 AI recipe generations per day, access to all ICA campaigns, and an offline shopping list. A planned Premium tier (29 SEK/month) will offer unlimited AI generations, weekly menus, training programs, and multi-store comparison.

Every Monday, the week's campaigns are fetched from your selected ICA store. When you generate a recipe, campaign prices are sent to the AI, which prioritizes cheap main ingredients without compromising on nutrition or flavor.

We show the lowest campaign price valid during the current campaign week (Monday–Sunday). Regular prices may vary between store visits, but the campaign price is fixed for the week.

The planned Premium tier will let users connect up to 5 stores and see which has the best price per ingredient. Free users can switch stores anytime, but compare one at a time.

The primary database is hosted by Neon in Frankfurt. Google Gemini and Vercel may also process data outside the EU/EEA under contractual transfer safeguards. Passwords are hashed with Argon2id and connections are encrypted. Health data (weight, allergies, goals) is a special category under the GDPR. A separate, server-verified, rejectable health-consent flow is not yet active.

Settings → “Delete my account” starts the deletion flow. After the preceding checks and attempts with connected account services are complete, the account and database data directly linked to it are removed in one transaction. Some shared records, technical logs, audit records, or files may remain. A full account of what is deleted or may remain is available at /en/radera-konto. You can also email hello@smaklig.app.

Smaklig does not use your data to train its own models. Relevant profile data and instructions are sent to Google Gemini to generate your content. Google's terms for paid Gemini API services state that prompts and responses are not used to improve Google's products, although limited logging may occur for abuse monitoring.

Yes. Smaklig is available as an app in open beta. On iPhone you install it directly via TestFlight; on Android you sign up for the beta and we'll invite you — start at smaklig.app/beta. On desktop you can also add Smaklig as a web app (PWA) directly from the browser. The app is not yet in the App Store or on Google Play.

Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge in current versions. On desktop you can install Smaklig as a web app (PWA) via Chrome or Edge. On mobile we recommend the app (open beta) instead. Internet Explorer is not supported.
