Vanilla quark with cinnamon-fried autumn apples and sunflower seeds
A quick, nutritious Swedish snack packed with protein and fibre. Warm cinnamon-spiced apples top a cool vanilla quark.

Ingredients

2 servings

  • 300 gvanilla quark 0.2% Lindahls
  • 2 stapple
  • 0.5 mskbutter & rapeseed oil spread, salted (Bregott®)
  • 1 tskground cinnamon
  • 2 msksunflower seeds

How to make it

  1. 1

Core the apples and cut them into roughly 1 cm dice.

  2. 2

Heat the butter and rapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium heat.

  3. 3

Add the apple pieces and the cinnamon. Fry, stirring, for about 3-4 minutes until the apples have softened slightly and taken on a nice colour.

  4. 4

Divide the vanilla quark between two bowls.

  5. 5

Top the quark with the warm cinnamon-fried apples and scatter over the sunflower seeds for a little crunch.

Kitchen tips

  • Use Swedish autumn apples if you can; their pleasant tartness contrasts perfectly with the sweet vanilla quark.
  • Let the apples cool briefly before spooning them onto the quark if you don't want it to go too runny.
