  • 100 glettuce leaves
  • 1 sttomato
  • 4 skivorpickled gherkins
  • 240 gcorn 🏷️
  • 1 tsksalt and black pepper

How to make it

  1. 1

Light the barbecue and set it up for direct high heat.

  2. 2

Gently shape the chuck mince into two thick burgers without packing the meat too tightly. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. 3

Mix the tomato purée, Dijon mustard, red wine vinegar, smoked paprika and olive oil in a small bowl to a smooth glaze.

  4. 4

Brush the onion rings with a little glaze and place them on the barbecue with the corn.

  5. 5

Grill the burgers over direct heat for about 3-4 minutes per side. Brush with the tomato and mustard glaze during the last minute.

  6. 6

Take the burgers off and let them rest for a couple of minutes.

  7. 7

Assemble the burgers on a bed of lettuce leaves, sliced tomato, grilled onion and pickled gherkins. Serve with the grilled corn on the side.

Kitchen tips

  • Don't overwork the mince when shaping the burgers so they stay juicy.
  • Let the meat rest for 2-3 minutes before serving so the juices stay in the burger.
